Don’t Take the Winter Off

By Jake at 11:33 am on Friday, February 16, 2007

Winter trout fishing can be some of the best fishing of the year. These days many streams are open to year round fishing and the brave angler can enjoy solitude and plenty of hungry trout. Remember that most trout food is of the very small variety in winter so take along plenty of small stuff to match the local midges and still developing mayfly nymphs. Winter fish feed best when the water temps are climbing so concentrate on mid morning to mid afternoon.
